Protective Device:
Due to short circuit, earth fault or overload in the electric line or circuit, excess current flow than the specified current increases the possibility of damage to the loads connected in the circuit. So all the devices that are used to protect the system from those damages are called protection devices. The most commonly used protection devices are fuses, cutouts, relays and circuit breakers etc.
Importance of protection device
By protective device we generally mean that the device automatically protects all loads or devices connected to the electrical circuit from damage by self-destruction or intactness. So it can be said that the role of protection device is very important in protecting all the loads connected to the electrical circuit from the damage of excess current or voltage.
