what is the power transmission line

The system of conveying electric power from generating stations to sub-stations is called transmission. It requires poles, tower conductors, transformers etc. The transmission voltage in Bangladesh is 230 KV, 132 KV, 66 KV and 33 KV. The generating voltage produced in Bangladesh is 11 kV or 11000 volts. The 11 KV voltage generated from the generating station is converted into high voltage and delivered to various sub-stations through transmission lines. Power transformers are used in transmission lines.

Transmission is of two types namely:

1. Primary Transmission

2 . Secondary Transmission
